Check out this photograph of Stone Street in 1914!

If you can’t tell, this is the North-East end of Stone Street (by Harry’s), facing Hanover Sq / Williams St. So the photographer had their back to the rest of Stone Street.

Did you know there used to be an elevated train station just steps from Stone Street? The structure seen on the right side of the photograph was the Hanover Sq Station on the elevated Third Avenue Line ’El’ train, which operated between 1878-1950. The tracks ran above Pearl Street!
