Throwing block parties since 1624!

The cities first breweries were located on Stone Street in the 1600s so we can imagine this is where the parties happened, and the 400 year tradition carries on today with several big street festivals every year.

*Part of Stone Street was actually named Brewer Street (Breuers Straet) back then.

Stone Street is NeW YORK CITYโ€™S oldest street.

FUN FACT

When the Dutch built their settlement on Lower Manhattan in 1624 it originally only consisted of about ten dirt roads, but in 1658 the residents petitioned for Stone Street to become the first cobble stone paved road in the city โ€” hence the name โ€œStone Streetโ€.
